Well Mad Dogs and Englishmen go out in the midday sun...we were just as mad as we went out to Angkor Wat at 1pm. The reason you may ask was because our guide told us it would be quiet then, which it was, so that was excellent
The afternoon was 'awesome', very difficult to describe apart from we have no idea how they did this and we could learn a lot from this.
Hard to explain but we climbed to the third level and it was quiet and made you realise what a magnificent place this is and in it's day must have been amazing.
In the evening we took a tuk-tuk into Siem Reap and had some supper; we did laugh at the 'tourists' in one group where all the males wore yellow and black tops and the women wore green and black. Tuk-tuk back to the hotel and early to bed as another early start tomorrow as we have a cycle ride!
We really are there! |

On our way round we came across a colony of monkeys; they were playing in the water just like children, the males were 'fighting' over a female; Keith does have a video of who won!
Our guide spoke to us about what his life here in Cambodia was like when he was 7 years old; he lost friends and family and we both felt yet again so humbled, but it is such an education. Life in Cambodia during the time of Pol Pot and the Khmer Rouge is something we can not imagine!
