First I have to say we were well and truly shaken, rattled and rolled on the train yesterday! An experience is the only way to describe it. I think we both genuinely thought that it would be a nice, new train having been in Malaysia and Singapore......BUT it was probably built a very long time ago! Apart from seeming to have square wheels, the train would stop for no reason in the middle of nowhere (normally a palm plantation) for ten minutes, Keith would get off to see where we were (why?!) but hey we got to Singapore in one piece after 7.5 hours!
We landed at 430 in Perth and by the time we had got through immigration and collected our cases it was 530, bright blue sky but a chill wind. Took taxi to our hotel and checked in, we both had a brief nap before we went to explore the city.
Perth is a lovely city, clean, quiet, very green, colourful in the beautiful public gardens.
