We came to Khao Lak in Thailand to recharge the batteries after India and it was a good choice. We are an hour from Phuket and the noise and bustle and this is really a very quiet place. A few restaurant s and shops but nothing else. The hotel is beautifully located in lovely grounds on the beach and we have really been able to relax and enjoy the weather that has been great. Although we are still in monsoon season this has really meant rain at night and hasn’t really stopped us doing anything.....

Glad we didn't tread on him! |

Caught in an evening shower! |
It is strange looking out to sea and how calm it has been and then thinking about the Tsunami and how Mother Nature is always in control. There are plenty of signs around the hotel with Tsunami escape routes, let’s hope they never have to be used.

Loved the food! |

Always smiling! |
We have
loved the Thai food and like India we have thankfully not suffered from any
upset stomachs and I think we both have appreciated the Thai food more than
Indian, we must remember to go to the Thai Rack more in Gerrards Cross!
The Thai
staff in this hotel and around in the streets and restaurants are lovely. In
the main this place seems run by women, they are always smiling and seem
genuinely pleased to be of assistance.
The hotel
is a Ramada which from our experience in the US would indicate a budget motel,
the opposite is true here as we hope the pictures from around the resort
indicate.
We are well and truly
rested for the next leg of our adventure
