JAIPUR

This is the Pink City, painted pink because one of the visiting British Royalty liked pink and the local Marharajah wanted to please him. Good job he didn't like scarlet with blue polka dots. Up early to see the Amber Fort and this time in addition to the usual cows and camels we had to avoid the odd elephant. Huge fort in the hills and left us both wondering...."why?" and "how the bloody hell did they do that". Anyhow one of the chaps had 104 wives so there must be something in the water! We then went to an observatory that 350 years ago worked out time around the world to within 2 seconds. Not sure what happens when it's a cloudy day as it does rely on the sun!

Then to the City palace located in the centre of Jaipur which was again spectacular. Finally we took a walk on the wild side in the local market which is a sight to behold. A diverse day but another experience!
