We are now in Rio staying on Copacabana beach!
In many ways this is exactly as we had expected. The beach has football (soccer) pitches the entire length of the beach and some of the skills of players was unbelievable!
Decided to go to the Botanical Gardens apparently one of the 10 best in the World.
The one thing that is the problem here in Rio is the traffic and with the World Cup and Olympics being staged here soon this is going to be a problem! The weather was very warm and humid and we spent a couple of hours in the botanical gardens before heading back to the hotel and having a swim in the pool.

Later in the afternoon we joined the locals on the beach and had the traditional Caiprinhi the local cocktail watching the world go by! If you look above Gillian;s head you can just make out the statue of Christ the Redeemer.
In the evening went to a bar and saw plenty of Lola's and showgirls well it is the hottest spot north of Havana!
