Charlotte to Orlando

We are back in Orlando having completed a round trip of over 1500 miles in 7 days!
We left the hotel early to arrive at an old plantation house for opening time.

It was an interesting tour and we learned a lot about the plantation, the owner from England and how many slaves were employed just to look after a very small family. The river at the bottom of the property served for transportation of rice in days gone by and also for guest to arrive from Charleston.

Unfortunately just after touring the house, the rains came but we thankfully had a UK branded umbrella to keep the English flag flying!

The drive back to Orlando was not nice, it poured with rain most of the 375 miles and despite it being almost impossible to see, lorries were passing us at 75mph!

We had a great road trip, the weather could have been kinder today....but we can't really complain!

We had a further road trip booked for next week to the Rockies but have decided to cancel this as there are huge forest fires in that part of the country and will remain here in Orlando.
