We have entered an agreement to rent out our house for a year. Today the removal men arrived to put the furniture into storage and we are on the 8pm flight back to the UK. That will give us time to clean the house after the removal men leave as the house is rented from Friday!
The removals guys arrived at 9.30 and started to load up the truck. Compared to many US homes we have very little in the way of fittings. Normal stuff....beds and tables, sofas and the like....and only 3 years in the house.
It was all progressing well including a kitten that had hitched a ride on the frame of the truck and therefore is a new resident of the street (unless the gator gets him!). It was all going well......until around 12.30 when we decided to check if the flight had left London on time. It had been cancelled! After a lot of phonecalls and pleading we were allowed to switch to an alternative....but that was leaving Orlando at 5.30.
The removal guys then said that the truck wasn't big enough and could they send another truck in the morning?! Nooooooooo! So the remainder of the furniture went in the garage, they kept the remote control garage opener and it should be completed today!
They didn't leave til 2pm and we then had to leave at 3pm for the flight...so our thoughts of making sure the house was clean and tidy disappeared! What a way to finish our last day!
We are now back in the UK, the blog will continue for a little while....there is Steve's stag weekend starting tomorrow and his wedding next Saturday....so the blog for the time being will continue!
