Last night after publishing the blog we went to Downtown and to a couple of bars to listen to music and sup a couple of beers! It was very cold…both the beers and the weather!
We went to the Country Music Hall of Fame today. We started by being taken over to the RCA studios where Elvis recorded lots of his songs as well as lots of other famous stars from the area.
Here is Keith at the piano that was used for all of his hits. In the New Year this will be enclosed in a perspex box so a photo that will never be possible again.
We then did the audio tour of the Hall of Fame. We learnt a lot and thought that it was a very nice place which had been well thought out even for those of us who do not like or follow country music.
They had one of Elvis’s limousines on show which was very ahead of its time. It had a TV, a refrigerator and an ice cube maker!
We learnt that Dolly Parton has earned 250million dollars just from her writing the song ‘I will always love you’ let alone her other earnings!
