Neither words nor the pictures can describe this place or the power of Mother Nature.
Started outside our hotel on a beautiful sunny morning.
We were picked up by our guide and taken the short drive to the border with Argentina. It took less than 5 minutes to get through into Argentina and they are the falls you can see behind me in this photo.
We effectively walked two trails, one the higher trail where the water pours over the edge and then the lower trail at the base of some of the falls.
After we had seen top and bottom of the waterfalls we got a train to 'The Devils Throat' which is the largest of the 270 waterfalls stretching 3.7 kms. The spray from this waterfall can rise 7kms in the air!
We then returned to the Brazilian side and went on a boat trip down the river through the rapids and into the falls (remember Gillian doesn't do thrill rides!
We went into the falls 4 times and were totally soaked!
It was an amazing experience!
Back to the hotel around 3.30 and dried by the lovely swimming pool.
The hotel decided to also upgrade our room and we are now in a rather nice suite listening to the sound of millions of gallons of water tumble over the falls every minute.
This is an amazing place.
