River Rafting in Costa Rica

Arrived early into the port of Puntoarenas in Costa Rica. We just beat the Queen Elizabeth in and she parked beside us.

After breakfast of porridge and a champagne mimosa we were off on tour!  We drove through the Costa Rican lowlands before arriving at a river for our trip over the rapids!

After putting on life jackets and given a paddle we got a one minute lesson in paddling the rafts and then we were off!
Mostly the river was quiet and it was fantastic floating along with the current we saw quite a lot of wild life, howler monkeys, iguanas, many birds and the odd croc!
The rapids were fun too although they were probably pretty tame…..now Gillian wants to do some more exciting and faster white water trips! ( This is the girl that doesn’t do Disney rides!)

It was very hot so we dried off in minutes.
Had a pleasant lunch with another English couple who were giving up life in Basingstoke for an old school-house, miles from anywhere in Wales!
There are no action shots yet, there was a tour photographer and for $10 it didn’t seem worth risking our camera in the raft…..so assuming they will post the photos we will put them on the blog when we get them.
It was a really fun day!
