Volcanoes in Nicaragua

Early morning start tendering into the port of San Juan del Sur in Nicaragua not Puerto Rico. We had a pleasant drive to the foothills of Mount Mombacho  where we got in a four wheel truck to go up the volcano and hike around the crater.  We were at 3200 feet.

En route we saw lots of Howler Monkeys , sloth and various birdlife. The hike was very interesting and the weather was beautiful as often the summit is in cloud. The views and flowers were wonderful.

After 2 km hike we went into Granada for lunch and a walk around the square.

There was a Russian family that did not stop taking photographs we took over 100 but we reckon without any exaggeration they took in excess of 2500 photographs!!
We liked Nicaragua!!
