Amman Walk

We spent 5 hours today walking with a guide through the City of Amman. Compared to India it is very organised and civil. Compared to the UK or US......it is a mess!
However Gillian found the Gold Souk

Here I am lying on the floor........

......why you may ask? To get a good shot of Gillian in the amphitheatre!

We sampled the delights of a typical Jordanian dessert which was really nice but contained a zillion calories......and where we went the school children said hello with all the girls wanting their photo taken with Gill. The boys just wanted me to take a picture of them!

The rest of the time was spent visiting various sites. Some going back....wait for this 7,500 years before the birth of Christ.

The weather was again good for sight-seeing and despite going into the souk unlike Asia there was no hassling at all.

With all the inspiring Roman architecture it seems the current City planners of Amman have a boring template and they are only investing in one building design as the shot below shows.

We finished of by visiting a black and white mosque before returning to the hotel. Tomorrow is a travelling day through the desert to Petra. We will be stopping at various places enroute and apparently the car will have internet connection. Is that a flag or a pig flying?!
