Sightseeing old Ruins

Picked up from the hotel just before 9am for a trip out to Jerash, a site of Roman-Greco buildings toppled by an earthquake 2000 years ago. If this is what is left after 2000 years...what must it have been like?

The site is very large, and complex with ruins spread over a large expanse.

As you can also see, the site was not crowded at all and
the sky was bluer than the bluest blue!

We spent  hours with a guide clambering over ruins and exploring and trying to imagine what a massive city this must have been.

Our ancestors were very, very clever!
